Finding joy in the mundane



Have you ever heard find the joy in the mundane? If not, welcome to this teaching.


True story . . . I used to get mad or frustrated washing dishes. I felt I was always doing dishes. Then I received the guidance what if I could find joy in washing dishes? What?!? How about my family doing some dishes? That's what I thought. I had received teachings around being present. Seeing my reality as perfect and beautiful. I'm telling you as a friend it is not easy. Neither is dropping resistance.


Our minds tend to go into the past or in the future. When we go into the past and judge it as wrong, we experience, shame, guilt, blame or regret. When our minds go into the future we experience stress and anxiety. Can we change the past? Even if we could time travel and tried to recreate it, energy is in such a flux, it would still be a unique experience. The only thing we can do is change our perception around the experience.


And isn't it curious that we go into the future and play the what if game. What if X, Y, Z happens . . . oh no. Or even if it is an oh yes . . . can you really control anything?


Back to the first question . . . can you find joy in the mundane? Can you be present and focus your attention in the moment and see the beauty? Can you feel the beauty? Being in the present moment is the key to unlocking more joy and love in your life. The now moment is the most powerful. It creates your next moment, as the law of continuity comes in play.


Scenario 1:

Female at the kitchen sink, washing dishes and radiates anger. Family member walks into the kitchen, feels the energy and matches that energy of irritation without being conscious of doing so. The family member starts grumbling about their day adding to the moment. The next moment continues in discordance vibration between female and family member.


Scenario 2:

Female at the kitchen sink, washing dishes and is fully present. Feeling the silkiness of the soap, the temperature of the water. Little soap bubbles float around her and she feels joy. Family member walks into the kitchen, feels the energy and matches that energy of joy without being conscious of doing so. The family member starts smiling sharing their day adding to the pleasure of the moment. The next moment is harmonious vibration between female and family member.


Isabelle Zimmerman are you saying if I'm in joy folks around me will be in joy? You only have control over your own vibration, but you do have an influence. What do I mean by this? If you are in alignment and fully present, not judging your experience as wrong, you vibrate harmony. Even if someone enters your field of energy in discordance or staticky, if you hold your vibration, resonance occurs. They either have to match your frequency or leave. Of course you can match to their frequency.


So . . . my Scooby Doo Detective are you ready to play? Can you focus on moments today and be fully present? Really open up your five physical senses, of touch, smell, sight, taste and sound? When you mind wanders to the past or present bring it back to the moment. When you do so . . . what happens?
